About The Position
St. Olaf College is seeking dependable and friendly student employees to assist with the daily operations of The Cave. The position offers a flexible and independent work environment. No prior retail experience is required; training is provided. The role is classified as a non-exempt student employee and is with Bon Appetit at St. Olaf College.
Requirements
- Be reliable and punctual.
- Have a friendly and professional attitude.
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Safely perform the physical work required for the duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with purchases in a friendly and professional manner.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Stock shelves and keep products organized.
- Rotate products using FIFO (first in, first out).
- Keep the store area clean, tidy, and welcoming.
- Monitor inventory and notify the manager when products are low.
- Open and/or close the store by following basic procedures.
- Provide general customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
- Perform light sweeping, dusting, and mopping, and empty trash.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
