Catholic Preschool Teacher
About The Position
Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time teacher for its PK3/4 classroom at a classical Catholic homeschool hybrid program in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the 2026–2027 academic year. The position is hourly and provides instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. The program maintains a small adult-to-child ratio, and curriculum, grading guidelines, and training in instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards are provided. Childcare/nursery is provided. The center is open to staff Mondays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; the position is described as 13–14 hours per week. Applicants do not need certification or formal teaching experience. Relevant experience may include working with homeschool children, parish ministry, teaching Religious Education or Catechism, teaching one's own children, or teaching in a classical or private school, though none is required. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and live the Catholic faith day to day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to their state in life. Staff must complete a clear background check and RCA Safe Child training before teaching. Applicants must be able to lift at least 30 pounds frequently and stand and walk for extended hours during the workday. No additional vacation days are provided beyond the stated vacation and holy days; accommodations are made for sick days as needed.
Requirements
- Able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
- Deep love for the Catholic faith and living the faith day to day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to one's state in life.
- Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
- A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
- Able to lift at least 30 pounds frequently.
- Able to stand and walk for extended hours throughout the workday.
- Complete a clear background check and RCA Safe Child training before teaching.
