About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time Preschool Assistant to help in a classical, Catholic preschool classroom at its Austin, Texas Center. The position is 13 hours per week, on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. No teaching certification or formal teaching experience is required; training, curriculum, and grading guidelines are provided. Tutors receive training in instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards and must complete mandatory training before working at the Center. The role is hourly, and childcare/nursery is provided. The assistant must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church, have a deep love for the Catholic faith, and live the faith day to day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to their state in life. The successful applicant will be organized, punctual, communicative, and comfortable with a highly structured classroom and a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship. Preparation for classes at home is required. Applicants must pass a clear background check and complete RCA Safe Child training. No additional vacation days are given, though accommodations are made for sick days as needed.

Requirements

Able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and demonstrate a deep love for the Catholic faith.
Living the Catholic faith day to day, including having received all sacraments appropriate to one's state in life.
Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
Able to lift at least 30 pounds frequently and stand and walk for extended hours throughout the workday.
Clear background check.
Willingness to prepare for classes at home.
Available Mondays and Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Nice To Haves

Standard computer skills, ideally with Google Suite or equivalent.
Experience homeschooling or working with homeschooled children, ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism, teaching one's own children, or teaching in a classical or private school.

Responsibilities
