Requirements

  • Must be knowledgeable about all hotel capabilities (front desk/reservations/room service/catering).

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting all assigned catering market segments and assigned local business.
  • Achieving revenue goals as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Prospecting catering deployed accounts as assigned, based upon target markets.
  • Generating leads from proper prospecting, outside sales calls, and networking.
  • Booking and detailing all In-house Weddings.
  • Merchandising function space and attaining maximum room rental wherever appropriate.
  • Delivering all proposals and contracts within 24 hours.
  • Understanding and following all guidelines relating to catering merchandising, space release, and “free sell” opportunities.
  • Continuously refining product/concept offering.
  • Maintaining aggressive weekly phone/site solicitation.
  • Active involvement in industry-related activities.
  • Providing hotel site inspections when necessary.
  • Achieving budgeted catering revenue goals.
  • Monitoring reader board service for new sources of business.
  • Reviewing contracted resumes and banquet event orders for all clients prior to arrival.
  • Verifying all blocked space in Delphi and detailing prior to executing a contract.
  • Ensuring that files are correctly turned over from sales to conference service.
  • Entertaining clients to establish closer working relations as needed and recommending special outside services when required.
  • Participating in final pre-con meetings prior to conference when necessary.
  • Monitoring their clients when in-house.
  • Providing and delivering all required banquet information for staff meetings, reservation group cut-off meetings, BEO meetings, resume review meetings when necessary.
  • Maintaining files and current trace dates, accurate history, and all relevant booking activity.
  • Actively participating in trade organizations, local social and civic groups.
  • Participating in the ongoing forecasting process.
  • Being current and abiding by all sales office procedures and systems.
  • Participating in weekly Sales meetings.
  • Promoting a high-quality company image by demonstrating professionalism to both clients and colleagues.
  • Recommending improvement of facilities and services as needed.
  • Developing plans and actions, for the administrative assistant/coordinator, that are congruent to his/her future goals.
  • Preparing quarterly Action Plans.
  • Regularly visiting competitive hotels and reporting findings.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by direct report.
