About The Position

The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting new accounts and maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing accounts. This role involves conducting site visits, calling corporate clients, booking group catering events and meetings, and ensuring a seamless and accurate sales process. The manager will also meet and greet clients, conduct property tours, promote facilities and services, answer inquiries, and close sales by collecting deposits and signed contracts. Additionally, the role requires confirming final billing accuracy, developing and delivering persuasive sales presentations, creating client menus, writing contracts, and organizing event arrangements. The manager will supervise and attend event setups and implementations, and communicate with relevant departments to ensure proper account servicing. Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of Food and Beverage etiquette, guest relations and service standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to assess client needs, negotiate pricing and provide overall guest satisfaction.
  • Effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
  • Presents a professional appearance and manner.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Maintain professionalism at all times, treating all guests and associates with courtesy and respect.
  • Work Habits: Meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit new accounts and maintain and strengthen relationships with existing accounts.
  • Conduct site visits or call individual corporate clients by telephone to solicit annual, week day and weekend business.
  • Book group catering events and meetings within the booking parameters, ensuring the sales progress seamlessly and accurately by following established processes and procedures.
  • Meet and greet clients, conduct property tours, and promote facilities and services.
  • Answer client inquiries.
  • Close sales by collecting client deposits and signed contracts.
  • Confirm final billing and accuracy prior to processing final bill.
  • Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Develop client menus, write contracts and letters, as well as organize all other arrangements as they relate to social and corporate events.
  • Supervise and attend the overall set up and implementation of events and meetings.
  • Communicate with relevant departments to ensure proper servicing of accounts.
