About The Position

The Catering Manager will maintain the plans and goals of the department as developed by management. This role involves preparing and producing Banquet Event Orders, overseeing event planning including room blocks, VIPs, transportation, special requests by groups, and coordinating outside vendors. The manager will need overall knowledge of room capabilities as they relate to capacities for the conference facility. Responsibilities include attending daily Catering meetings with all Banquet and A/V departments to discuss upcoming events, creating detailed menus for themed events, and supervising the proper execution of events by coordinating and managing the efforts of the Banquet Manager and support staff. Open communication with all departments is essential for planning special events. All responsibilities must be performed in accordance with Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of Catering / Convention / Conference Group Management.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, facts and prepare valid solutions.
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management.
