About The Position

McMenamins Edgefield is hiring for a Catering (Banquet) Cook. McMenamins is a family-owned company in Oregon and Washington serving handcrafted beer, wine, cider, spirits, and coffee alongside pub fare. Locations range from neighborhood pubs to historic hotels, emphasizing community, art, history, music, food, drink, and fun. This role involves producing food for catered events, including reading contracts, ensuring timely delivery, following portioning guidelines, and preparing various food items such as cold trays, sauces, hors d’oeuvres, meat, seafood, pasta, baking, and specialty dishes for events. The Catering Cook is responsible for organizing and cleaning their work area, including dishwashing. This position requires the ability to handle physically demanding work, multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, and work both independently and as part of a team. Employees are expected to perform their jobs safely and report any safety concerns.

Requirements

• Obtain and maintain current food handlers card
• Ability to accurately work with numbers, orders and food specs
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a high volume, deadline-oriented work environment

Responsibilities

• Produce food for catered events
• Read contracts
• Ensure food gets to the event by the established deadline
• Follow established food portioning guidelines
• Manufacture and present all catered food, including cold trays, cold & hot sauces, hors d’oeuvre trays, meat & seafood, pasta, small amounts of baking, and food production for special events
• Organize and clean work area
• Perform dishwashing as needed
• Perform job in a safe manner
• Report any safety concerns to Management
