About The Position

Every McMenamins Catering Cook is responsible for producing food for catered events. This includes reading contracts, ensuring timely food delivery, adhering to food portioning guidelines, and the manufacturing and presentation of all catered food. This encompasses cold trays, cold & hot sauces, hors d’oeuvre trays, meat & seafood, pasta, small amounts of baking, and food production for special events, holidays, and property-wide events. Catering Cooks are also responsible for organizing and cleaning their work area, including dishwashing. The role involves hard physical work and requires the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Cooks must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. All employees are expected to perform their job safely and report any safety concerns to Management.

Requirements

  • Obtain and maintain current food handlers card
  • Ability to accurately work with numbers, orders and food specs
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a high volume, deadline-oriented work environment

Responsibilities

  • Produce food for catered events
  • Read contracts
  • Ensure food gets to the event by the established deadline
  • Follow established food portioning guidelines
  • Manufacture and present all catered food, including cold trays, cold & hot sauces, hors d’oeuvre trays, meat & seafood, pasta, small amounts of baking, and food production for special events, holidays, and property-wide events
  • Organize and clean work area, including dishwashing as needed
  • Perform job in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to Management
