About The Position

The Wayfarer DTLA, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is looking for a Catering & Conference Sales Manager to join the team! The Catering & Conference Sales Manager is responsible for attainment of assigned catering/food and beverage sales goals tied to the overall performance of the hotel. The individual will be responsible for effectively servicing clients/groups and maintaining the contracted food and beverage minimum. The Catering & Convention Sales Manager will work in conjunction with the sales the hotel’s revenue, meeting planner satisfaction scores, and food and beverage sales goals.

Requirements

  • Attainment of assigned catering/food and beverage sales goals
  • Servicing clients/groups and maintaining the contracted food and beverage minimum
  • Working in conjunction with sales to achieve hotel’s revenue, meeting planner satisfaction scores, and food and beverage sales goals
  • Soliciting new and existing accounts to meet and exceed budgeted revenue goals
  • Maximizing revenue by selling all facets of the hotel including room rental, banquet and catering food and beverage, AV and other revenue generating opportunities
  • Responding promptly to all sales related inquiries and correspondence from customers, prospects, and lead referrals
  • Conducting weekly quota of proactive sales calls in the form of telephone calls, hotel site inspections, trade shows and networking functions/meetings
  • Detailing (BEO Creation) of all meeting and events with client specifications including space requirements, times, equipment, menus, theme, décor, staffing etc.
  • Coordinating all group and banquet business booked by the Sales Manager(s) or Director of Sales
  • Contacting and appropriately following up on all signed/contracted business
  • Determining and coordinating all event planning needs
  • Communicating upcoming deadlines to clients i.e., cutoff date, room list due, final guarantee due etc.
  • Receiving and posting deposits and final payments, ensuring direct billing is established as applicable
  • Effectively communicating with the various departments to ensure meeting and related functions are executed to the client’s expectation
  • Exhibiting a positive and involved team attitude to all hotel departments and maintaining open communications with all coworkers for the best overall performance of the hotel
  • Providing overall direction and coordination for events to restaurant/banquet staff
  • Conducting site inspections, menu tastings and pre/post con meetings with clients
  • Participating in updating banquet menus/packages/upgrades regularly to maximize revenue and ensure customer needs are met
  • Participating in industry and civic organizations and events to take advantage of networking opportunities to build relationships and secure new business
  • Greeting host (on-site contact) for assigned events and providing formal introduction and handoff to Banquet Captain
  • Utilizing the hotels sales system in accordance with Company standards
