About The Position

Our client, an Asian fusion catering company, is seeking a Catering Chef to lead culinary execution for a high-volume, design-forward catering and events operation based in the LA area. This role is ideal for a chef who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and brings a deep appreciation for Asian fusion cuisine. This position plays a critical role in both hands-on execution and culinary leadership, supporting a wide range of events from intimate gatherings to large-scale corporate and social experiences.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a catering, events, or high-volume kitchen environment
  • Strong background in Asian fusion cuisine, with preference for Vietnamese or Southeast Asian influences
  • Experience working with fresh herbs, balanced flavors, and lighter, produce-driven cooking styles
  • Proven ability to execute off-site events and manage logistics under pressure
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in fast-paced kitchen environments
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt quickly and problem-solve in real time
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead all culinary production for on-site and off-site catering events, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation
  • Execute and evolve menus rooted in Asian fusion influences, highlighting fresh, seasonal ingredients
  • Collaborate with culinary and events teams to create dynamic, culturally inspired offerings tailored to each event
  • Oversee prep, production, and execution across multiple events simultaneously
  • Manage and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a strong, collaborative team environment
  • Maintain high standards in both flavor development and visual presentation
  • Ensure proper cost controls, including food cost, labor efficiency, and waste reduction
  • Partner closely with event teams to deliver a seamless, elevated guest experience
  • Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards
