The Sous Chef reports directly to the Executive Chef. This role involves living out the company's values by delivering warm, welcoming, and memorable experiences for every guest and client, while creating competitive quality products. The Sous Chef will supervise and participate in creating high-quality products for events and food service locations, assist in menu pricing and preparation, and estimate food consumption for events. They will also demonstrate new cooking techniques, train, coach, counsel, and resolve problems. A key aspect of this role is ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations and practices, including implementing and enforcing sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and/or dining areas. The Sous Chef will monitor and track proper cooking and holding temperatures, support management of payroll and controllable profit, and oversee quality, product levels, and inventory. They will manage employees in accordance with state and federal laws, incorporate sustainable resources into culinary selections, and perform specialty projects as assigned by the Executive Chef. Responding to guest requests and taking action to ensure client satisfaction is crucial. The Sous Chef will also maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment and uphold company policies and procedures.
