About The Position

Restaurant Associates, part of Compass Group, is hiring a full-time Catering Captain at JPMorgan Chase, 270 Park Avenue, New York, NY. The position coordinates catering staff schedules to ensure functions are delivered, served, and cleared on time. The Catering Captain prepares and serves food at scheduled functions under the supervision of the Catering Director and may drive a truck to deliver food and beverages. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with hours that may vary. The fixed pay rate is $24.50 per hour.

Requirements

• Previous catering experience is required.
• A valid driver's license may be required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler's permit and/or alcohol servers permit where required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Determine workload requirements from catering orders.
• Meet with function group leaders to discuss setup arrangements, handle last-minute changes, and resolve problems.
• Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service-oriented manner.
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of menu items.
• Instruct staff on work expectations for catered functions.
• Help staff set up rooms to desired specifications.
• Assemble and deliver food and supplies to scheduled locations.
• Serve food and beverages to guests.
• Return food, beverages, serving equipment, and utensils to the catering facility.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures, and follow HACCP standards.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
• Ensure proper food preparation by following approved recipes and production standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
