The Category Manager - Cigs & Tobacco is responsible for supporting national and regional strategic direction, owning local assortment and planogram execution, and making frontline pricing decisions. This role also manages vendor operations and local relationships, oversees planogram implementation including resets and third-party relationships, and generates actionable operational reports. The Category Manager will select local vendors, negotiate costs and terms, and develop schematics applying category management principles. They will also increase sales revenues by developing promotional concepts and overlay programs, contributing to team efforts by achieving financial and Key Result Area targets, and fostering positive relationships between national, regional, business unit, and operational teams. Support for pilot/testing activities, including preparation, communication, tracking, and feedback, is also a key function. The role involves establishing and monitoring gross margins through forecasting, developing annual sales quotas, projecting sales volume and profit, and determining placement and promotions. They will project and measure category sales and gross profit results, maintain vendor relations, recommend product/service/policy changes, and achieve financial objectives by preparing annual category reviews and budgets. Maintaining professional and technical knowledge through education and networking is also expected. This role contributes to team effort by accomplishing determined Financial and Key Result Area targets pursuant to Company Plan guidelines.
