Category CEO Online Care & Prescriptions

Aonic•San Francisco, CA
•$160,000 - $240,000•Onsite

About The Position

Aonic is deploying AI to drastically reduce the cost of living. We are building Aonic Club: the club contract Costco proved over four decades, rebuilt online and AI-native. An annual membership gets Americans elevated everyday products at cost, starting with functional nutrition and moving into health care next. We make the products ourselves and run sourcing, content, forecasting and service with AI agents, which deletes the 30-40% of retail and marketing layers inside every consumer price. The savings go to members, only: 15% under Costco's Kirkland, and on average 80% below the brands. Our ambition is big: 1 million members and a $10 billion company within a few years, built by a handful of humans with extreme leverage: AI agents running the operations, a community as the channel, and the AI dividend delivered to everyday America. As Category CEO for Online Care & Prescriptions, you build Aonic's answer to Hims & Hers and Ro from zero: online doctor visits and prescriptions for hair loss, sexual health, weight loss, skin, birth control and mental health, sold at cost. Today a hair loss pill that costs a pharmacy cents a month sells for $22 a month, and weight loss programs add up to $149 a month on top of the drug. We want members to pay the real cost of the medicine, the pharmacy and the doctor, and nothing more. Aonic is organized around Category CEOs, one per category we take on. You own your category the way a founder owns a company: what we treat, which clinicians and pharmacies deliver it, what it costs and how members get care, refills and answers. You own the cost: every visit and prescription sells at what we pay our partners, with no markup, at one transparent price. Your north star is your category's revenue at constant cost, guarded by medical quality, member experience and compliance. We sell medicines approved by the FDA only. We are looking for an exceptional operator from health tech who builds with AI first and masters a regulated business fast. You will work side by side with the CEO, our medical director and our health care regulatory counsel. Clinical decisions always stay with physicians; you build everything around them. This role is intentionally broad and demanding. It is designed for someone who wants a whole business, years earlier than anywhere else would hand them one.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of operating experience in operations, strategy and operations, business operations or general management at a high-growth health care or technology startup, or at McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group or Bain followed by hands-on operating work.
  • Digital health experience: you have built or run something in telehealth, pharmacy or consumer health, and you know how online care, prescriptions and fulfillment work and are regulated.
  • End-to-end ownership with numbers: you have launched or run a product line, a market, a partner network or an operations function, and you can show the revenue, cost or speed you moved.
  • AI-native in practice: you have built AI agents or automations that run real operations, with outcomes you can measure.
  • Commercial instinct: you have negotiated with partners, suppliers or customers, and you enjoy sitting across the table from a pharmacy or a clinician network.
  • Degree from a top university in engineering, computer science, science, economics or business, with top grades.
  • Extremely hungry and ambitious, actively seeking responsibility and steep growth.
  • Strong work ethic and intensity, comfortable working fully onsite in San Francisco, 8 am to 7 pm Monday to Thursday and 8 am to 5 pm on Fridays.

Nice To Haves

  • Content-native (bonus): you can explain a treatment on camera, because our launches run through creators.
  • Weight loss, dermatology or men's and women's health experience (bonus): you have worked on one of the categories we launch first.

Responsibilities

  • Launch hair loss, erectile dysfunction, skin, birth control and branded weight loss medicines (GLP-1s, glucagon-like peptide-1 drugs) at the makers' prices first; mental health and the rest of the range next.
  • Own the telehealth partners (clinician networks licensed in all 50 states) and the pharmacy partners: contracts, service levels, delivery times and the prescribing protocols our physicians set.
  • Negotiate the cost per visit, drug acquisition, dispensing and shipping, and keep re-bidding.
  • Set one transparent price per treatment, the same for everyone.
  • Work with our medical director and counsel.
  • Own the compliance system: licensed pharmacies, advertising certification for prescription medicines, patient privacy (no advertising trackers on health pages), claims review, transparent billing and easy cancellation.
  • Build intake, follow-up, refills and member service with AI agents, together with our founding engineer, so every member gets an answer in minutes and every clinician spends their time on medicine.
  • Design the agents, set their rules and measure them, so the category scales with very few humans.
  • Hire a care operations lead, and grow the team only as volume grows.
  • Write the playbook for health care at Aonic, together with the Category CEO for Diagnostics.

Benefits

  • Significant equity
  • Savings with a Purpose A member on a weight loss pill can save about $1,700 a year against Hims & Hers at the starting dose. Every dollar you take out goes straight to our members.
