Catalysis and Spectroscopy Research Internship - Summer 2027

Idaho National Laboratory•Idaho Falls, ID
•$27 - $41•Onsite

About The Position

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking an intern to support its Transient Kinetic Analysis team. The project focuses on operating catalysts under agile conditions involving energy-price-driven ramping and cutbacks, and on mechanistic studies of catalysts under different reaction conditions. The intern will conduct operando spectroscopic studies, such as diffuse reflectance, Raman, and photoluminescence, on a methanol synthesis catalyst. The team works a 9x80 schedule onsite at INL's Idaho Falls campus. The internship start date and duration vary according to the project and the student's availability. The role is an internship and may be placed at an appropriate level based on the candidate's degree field and education level.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled full time in an undergraduate degree program majoring in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or Engineering.
  • Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States, including through CPT or OPT.
  • Provide a current resume or CV.
  • Provide unofficial transcripts that include current and completed degree programs.
  • Provide a current class schedule and number of credits.
