Cat Sitter
About The Position
The Comforted Kitty is seeking reliable, responsible cat lovers to provide in-home cat-sitting visits while clients are away. This flexible, part-time independent contractor role lets sitters set their availability and service area, with clients matched to them. Sitters care for cats, help pet parents travel with peace of mind, and may build relationships with repeat clients. Service options include drop-in visits of 30, 45, or 60 minutes, typically one to three times daily; extended daytime visits of 2–8 hours; 10-hour overnight stays; and 24-hour live-in care with overnight care. Most visits occur while clients are traveling, so availability on weekends, holidays, and mornings, afternoons, or evenings is especially valuable.
Requirements
- Experience caring for cats, especially in a pet-sitting capacity.
- Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Comfort working independently in clients’ homes.
- A smartphone with reliable internet access and a camera.
- Weekend and holiday availability is especially valuable.
Nice To Haves
- Medication experience, including oral medications, injections, or fluids.
Responsibilities
- Feed cats and refresh their water.
- Clean litter boxes.
- Provide playtime, affection, or companionship according to each cat’s personality.
- Send visit updates and photos through the company app.
- Follow each client’s detailed care instructions.
- Bring in mail or packages.
- Adjust lights or blinds and handle trash or recycling when requested.
- Administer medication when it is within the sitter’s experience and comfort level.
