About The Position

The Casino Housekeeping role maintains offices and public areas, including hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, escalators, VLT machines, and other work areas. The position involves routine cleaning, replenishing supplies, organizing storage areas, delivering cleaning products, and answering guests’ questions about the facility. The listed shift is 4 p.m. to midnight.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 21.
• Less than a high school education; up to one month of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and number series, and print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s, including using American money and weight, volume, and distance measurements.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Must qualify for licensing with the West Virginia Racing Commission.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, handling objects, reaching, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work with the stated vision requirements, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision and adjustment of focus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain offices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, escalators, VLT machines, and other work areas.
• Sweep floors and walkways.
• Wash windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets and empty and clean ashtrays.
• Replenish bathroom supplies.
• Keep storage rooms clean and organized.
• Deliver cleaning supplies and paper products.
• Answer guests’ questions about the facility.
