About The Position

Fox Bros. Piggly Wiggly is a 100% employee-owned grocery chain with 10 locations in Southeastern Wisconsin and has been recognized as a “Top Workplace” by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for several years in a row. The Cashier reports directly to the Customer Service Manager and helps ensure customer transactions run smoothly to maximize customer satisfaction.

The position performs front-end checking, stocking, facing, and general housekeeping duties when instructed. It requires customer service skills, attention to detail, safe operation of department equipment, and the ability to work required hours, including flexible shifts, overtime, and weekends.

Requirements

• Experience working in customer service, preferably in a retail or grocery environment.
• Ability to perform front-end duties, practices, and procedures in a retail or grocery environment.
• Be self-directed and results-oriented, project a positive business image, and lead by example.
• Good attention to detail and follow-through skills.
• Good customer relations skills.
• Ability to work efficiently with weights, measures, scales, and tally unit product retail prices.
• Ability to run a cash register.
• Proficient operation of scanners, cash registers, a calculator, and basic office equipment such as a fax machine and copier.
• Meet the physical requirements of the position.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to operate certain department equipment.
• Availability for required work hours, including flexible shift schedules, overtime, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer transactions run smoothly and help maximize customer satisfaction.
• Perform front-end checking duties.
• Stock and face merchandise when instructed.
• Perform general housekeeping duties when instructed.
• Meet department productivity, policy, standard operating procedure, quality, and safety requirements.
• Operate department equipment safely and efficiently.
• Use weights, measures, scales, and tally unit product retail prices efficiently.
