About The Position

The Cashier delivers exceptional customer service and smooth transactional experiences as a frontline representative of Rural King. The role involves greeting and assisting customers, processing transactions accurately, explaining company programs, and maintaining a welcoming store environment. Cashiers also help maintain the checkout area and other customer-facing spaces, support store operations, and participate in cross-training and ongoing learning.

Responsibilities

Deliver outstanding customer service through clear communication and active listening.
Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
Follow the cashier script and explain company programs, including the loyalty program, Rural King Visa, and RK Plus Protection Plan.
Apply cash management, return, layaway, and exchange policies in accordance with company guidelines.
Communicate professionally and positively with customers and associates.
Provide product information and answer basic customer questions, offering recommendations when appropriate.
Coordinate with loaders and respond promptly to customer requests for assistance.
Process transactions accurately and efficiently, and resolve price disputes professionally.
Remain in the designated area near the registers and available to assist customers when not handling a transaction.
Promote the Rural King loyalty program and explain its benefits.
Introduce customers to the Rural King Visa card and explain its benefits.
Answer register calls using professional and friendly phone etiquette and identify the store and oneself as a Rural King representative.
Reconcile registers and file paperwork with a commitment to accuracy.
Deactivate EAS devices or spider-wrapped products as needed.
Maintain awareness of surroundings to help prevent loss while providing customer service.
Perform cashier duties including stocking coolers, cleaning front windows, and managing registers.
Refill popcorn and coffee stations in a timely manner.
Keep shopping carts and restrooms clean and maintained.
Use general office equipment, including a telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, and computer.
Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments and responsibilities.
Participate in training programs, workshops, webinars, and other learning initiatives.
Provide prompt, friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal and external customers.
