About The Position

The Cashier is a frontline representative of Rural King who delivers customer service and ensures accurate, efficient transactions. The role involves greeting and assisting customers, processing purchases and returns, explaining company programs, and maintaining a welcoming store environment. Cashiers also handle register and cash-management procedures, support loss prevention, respond to calls, and complete related store tasks such as stocking coolers and maintaining customer areas. The position includes cross-training and participation in learning initiatives.

Responsibilities

Deliver outstanding customer service through clear communication and active listening.
Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
Follow the cashier script and explain the loyalty program, RK Visa, and RK Plus Protection Plan.
Apply cash-management, return, layaway, and exchange policies according to company guidelines.
Communicate professionally and positively with customers and associates.
Provide product information, answer basic inquiries, and offer recommendations when appropriate.
Coordinate with loaders and respond promptly to customer requests for assistance.
Process transactions accurately and efficiently, and resolve price disputes professionally.
Stand in the designated area near the registers and remain available to assist customers when not handling a transaction.
Explain the benefits of the Rural King loyalty program and Rural King Visa card.
Answer register phone calls using professional phone etiquette and identify the store and self as a Rural King representative.
Reconcile registers and file paperwork accurately.
Deactivate EAS devices or spider-wrapped products as needed.
Maintain awareness of surroundings to help prevent loss and provide customer service.
Complete cashier tasks, including stocking coolers, cleaning front windows, and managing registers.
Refill popcorn and coffee stations in a timely manner.
Keep shopping carts and restrooms clean and well-maintained.
Use general office equipment, including telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, and computer.
Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments and responsibilities.
Participate in training programs, workshops, webinars, and other learning initiatives.
Provide prompt, friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal and external customers.
