Retail - Temporary/Seasonal Cashiers
About The Position
The Cashier is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, embodying customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The role adheres to operational, merchandise, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The position includes accurately processing purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, supporting merchandising and sales-floor recovery, and contributing to store cleanliness, safety, and shrink-reduction goals. The cashier also supports a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, respect, and constructive feedback.

Responsibilities
- Role-model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to established procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
- Accurately process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and help maintain the cleanliness of the entire store.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
