About The Position

The Cashier maximizes store profitability through accurate register operation, best-in-class customer service, and efficient merchandising. The role supports Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin’s mission to build skills and change lives in its communities. The Cashier greets and assists customers, processes transactions, promotes the Round-Up program, and helps keep the sales floor stocked, orderly, and safe. The position also supports production, rotation, and one-touch optimization, and works professionally with coworkers, shoppers, and donors.

Requirements

Ability to operate a cash register and use basic math to count money.
Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and use a full range of motion to lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds.
Ability to communicate clearly.
No experience necessary.

Responsibilities

Greet customers, answer questions, provide best-in-class service, and invite customers to return.
Process transactions accurately, professionally, and efficiently.
Promote the Round-Up program and explain how customer contributions support the community.
Merchandise and salvage items to keep the sales floor fresh and stocked.
Pick up items, return shopping carts and baskets, and place merchandise in the appropriate area.
Maintain a neat, clean, and safe environment by following established 5S principles and safety guidelines.
Monitor fitting rooms, return items to the sales floor, and report known theft to a Manager or Asset Protection Agent.
Interact professionally and pleasantly with coworkers, shoppers, and donors.
If 18 or older, assist Asset Protection Agents and potentially act as a witness for shoplifting detentions.
Support production, rotation, and one-touch optimization.
Perform duties within the framework of the organization’s Core Values.
