About The Position
As a Lowe's cashier, you help ensure every customer exits the store satisfied by providing a quick, friendly, professional checkout experience and helping customers get the best value. Most of your time is spent at the register, but you may also assist other departments, stock shelves, or move carts as needed. The role involves answering customer questions and assisting with payments and exchanges in a fast-paced environment. The role does not require regular travel, although occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Working conditions vary by location and may include indoor and outdoor weather, extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Associates must follow lifting guidelines: single lifts are limited to 75 pounds, team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed, and powered equipment should be used as required with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Requirements
- Read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- Ability to minimally lift 10 pounds unassisted or over 15 pounds with or without accommodation.
- Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by law in the state.
