About The Position

The Cashier assists customers during and after the checkout process at Nature’s Wonders. The role performs point-of-sale transactions, provides friendly customer service, maintains an organized checkout area, and assists with barista duties as needed. Tasks are performed under direct supervision using defined policies and procedures, and work is reviewed by a supervisor.

Requirements

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience in a customer service environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Adaptability to new processes and procedures.
Excellent self-motivation and initiative while unsupervised.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at one time.
Ability to move freely around the workspace; sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, bending, crawling, and climbing may be necessary.

Responsibilities

Greet customers when they arrive and leave the store, and remain alert, friendly, and ready to assist.
Perform all processes and functions of the point-of-sale system.
Ensure checkout counters are never left unattended.
Keep money organized, count change correctly, and ensure transactions are accurate and checks contain all required information.
Keep the checkout area clean and organized.
Know the store’s discounts and apply customer account discounts, punch cards, and other applicable offers.
Bag products efficiently while accommodating customer wishes.
Take special orders and requests.
Answer the phone.
Find tasks to complete between customers.
Assist with barista duties as needed.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
