About The Position

The Cashier is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, applying customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The role follows operational, merchandise, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The position involves accurately processing purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, supporting merchandising and sales-floor preparation, and participating in store recovery, cleanliness, safety, and shrink-reduction efforts. The Cashier also contributes to a positive store culture and follows applicable labor laws, policies, and procedures. Other duties may be assigned. This is a part-time role at the TJ Maxx store at 1945 West Palmetto Street, Florence, South Carolina. Weekend work is required. The starting pay range is $12.50–$13.00 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and embodying customer experience principles.
Model customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and help maintain and clean the entire store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
