About The Position

The Cashier operates cash registers and point-of-sale systems, processes and bags customer orders, performs carry-outs, and provides exceptional customer service while contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment. The position is in the Front End department and reports to the Front End Manager. It is a temporary assignment for 90 days, scheduled for 37.5 hours, with availability required between 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. The role supports customers at checkout and self-checkout, follows cash-handling and return procedures, helps prepare the department for opening and closing, and assists with product restocking, recycling areas, and store cleanliness. Work schedules may change based on business needs. The store operates seven days a week, year-round, so evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required. Work takes place in a grocery store, with potentially wet or slippery surfaces, moderate noise, temperature extremes in coolers and freezers, and—in some locations—outdoor work in all temperatures. Depending on location, stairs or elevators may be present. The role may involve exposure to allergens or chemicals. The position requires frequent standing and walking, regular use of hands and arms, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items of varying weights. Reasonable accommodations are available to qualified applicants and employees with disabilities.
