About The Position
The Good Table is a restaurant in the heart of Cape Elizabeth that offers Bard Coffee, pizzas, pastries, and grab-and-go options. As part of the Prentice Hospitality Group, it upholds a commitment to genuine hospitality and quality in a quick-service format. This role is for a friendly, fast-moving Full-time Seasonal Cashier who will be the face of the grab-and-go café, ensuring efficient customer service and a positive atmosphere. The position is seasonal, running from June to October, with exact dates potentially varying.
Requirements
- Friendly, upbeat attitude
- Comfortable on your feet for an entire shift
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to move quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math and comfort handling payments
Nice To Haves
- Previous café or food service experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and process orders quickly and accurately at the register
- Handle cash, card, and mobile payments; maintain an accurate drawer
- Package grab-and-go items, bag orders, and ensure everything looks fresh and presentable
- Run food to guests or hand off orders as needed
- Restock display cases, shelves, and condiment stations throughout the shift
- Pour and serve beer and wine
- Keep your area clean, organized, and safe — before, during, and after your shift
- Answer questions about menu items, allergens, and daily specials
