About The Position

The Cashier provides courteous, attentive customer service and accurately processes customer transactions. The role also supports store cleanliness and upkeep, merchandise ordering and stocking, sales and inventory controls, security reporting, and shift paperwork. The position requires regular, predictable onsite attendance and may include job-related meetings or other duties assigned by the Store Manager. This is a part-time position with evening availability and weekday and weekend availability required. The hiring range is $13.00 to $13.50 per hour. The role is primarily indoors, with some outdoor cleaning duties, and involves working with minimum direction and periodic supervision.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Retail sales experience preferred.
Ability to accurately operate equipment such as cash registers or scanners, beverage dispensers, and other machines or tools.
Ability to work as scheduled and arrive on time.
Ability to communicate information and ideas so others understand.
Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division preferred.
Ability to perform the essential duties and physical functions of the job and work in the described conditions.
Ability to work alone.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Greet customers, provide assistance and product recommendations, and thank customers as they leave.
Accurately ring up sales and handle cash, checks, and other forms of payment.
Operate store equipment and machines, including the fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, and telecom transaction systems.
Report to work on time and follow the dress and appearance code.
Clean and maintain the store, including indoor and outdoor areas, and perform basic upkeep of store equipment.
Inspect facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order; notify the Store Manager of equipment failures or maintenance and supply needs.
Complete merchandise ordering, receive and verify vendor deliveries, maintain stock levels, and rotate merchandise properly.
Place advertising and pricing signage inside or outside the facility.
Control merchandise and cash shortages and other selling expenses; assist with inventory levels and shift audits.
Maintain accurate cash, sales, and inventory records, account for variances, and report discrepancies to the Store Manager.
Follow company or brand guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
Report incidents such as injuries, theft, property damage, improper sanitation, or waste disposal issues, as well as potentially unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct.
Maintain accurate shift and timekeeping paperwork and, as needed, take inventory of supplies and equipment.
Attend job-related meetings, which may require irregular hours; provide regular and predictable onsite attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
