About The Position

The Cashier provides prompt, courteous, and attentive customer service, processes customer transactions, and helps maintain the store’s cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and operating controls. The role includes operating a cash register and other store equipment, handling payments, assisting customers, and maintaining accurate shift and sales records. The position is part-time, with evening shifts and weekday and weekend availability required. Work is primarily indoors, though some outdoor cleaning duties are required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Retail sales experience preferred.
Ability to accurately operate equipment such as cash registers or scanners, beverage dispensers, and other machines or tools.
Ability to work as scheduled and arrive on time.
Ability to communicate information and ideas so others understand.
Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division preferred.
Ability to perform the essential duties and physical functions of the job and work in the described conditions.
Weekday and weekend availability for evening shifts is required.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, courteous, friendly, and attentive customer service; greet customers and thank them as they leave.
Assist customers and offer suggestions or recommendations.
Accurately ring up sales and handle cash, checks, and other forms of payment.
Operate store equipment and services such as fuel consoles, lottery machines, money order machines, and telecom transactions.
Arrive on time and follow dress and appearance requirements.
Clean and maintain the store, equipment, and surrounding areas to company or brand standards.
Inspect facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order; report equipment failures and maintenance or supply needs to the Store Manager.
Complete merchandise ordering tasks, receive and verify vendor deliveries, maintain stock, rotate products, and place advertising and pricing signage.
Help control merchandise, cash shortages, and selling expenses; assist with inventory levels and shift audits.
Maintain accurate cash, sales, inventory, shift, and timekeeping records; account for variances and report discrepancies to the Store Manager.
Follow company or brand guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
Report incidents, including injuries, theft, property damage, sanitation or waste-disposal issues, and potentially unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct.
May take inventory of supplies and equipment and attend job-related meetings, which may require irregular hours.
Maintain regular and predictable onsite attendance and perform other duties assigned by the Store Manager.
