Seasonal Cashier | Short Pump
About The Position
As a Cashier, you provide fast, friendly customer service by processing transactions, answering questions, and helping customers leave with a positive impression. The role may also include sales associate or merchandiser/stock associate duties. Internally, the position is called Front End Team Member and reports to the store management team. This is a seasonal, short-term position lasting no longer than six months. Team members may apply for a non-seasonal role. The position requires a flexible schedule as business needs require, including evenings and weekends, and involves working on your feet, handling merchandise, and possibly exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Passion for excellent customer service and a team-player mindset.
- 1–3 years of work experience.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to walk, bend repeatedly, and remain on your feet for 8–10 hours a day.
- Ability to safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets; climb ladders; and lift 50 pounds overhead repeatedly.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience in a retail setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
Responsibilities
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including verifying identification, handling payments, answering inquiries, promoting the loyalty program, and bagging products.
- Provide exceptional, personalized service by greeting customers, building relationships, and informing them about products and services.
- Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge.
- Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs.
- Maintain store safety and cleanliness standards.
- Follow applicable laws and regulations related to alcohol sales and help maintain a safe, compliant store environment.
- Complete cross-functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
