About The Position

This position is responsible for greeting customers, operating the POS system, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store. The Cashier will also assist with promotions, training new staff, and ensuring adherence to company policies and safety procedures.

Requirements

Ability to greet customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner.
Proficiency in operating a POS system.
Skills in proper cash handling.
Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization of the store.
Understanding of safety procedures and ability to report hazards.
Willingness to assist with training new employees.
Adherence to company policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

Experience with coupon and discount processing.
Familiarity with "Change Round-up" programs.
Ability to place and rotate merchandise on the sales floor.

Responsibilities

Greet customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner, offering assistance.
Operate the POS system for accurate and efficient sales data entry.
Handle all transactions, including coupons and discounts, with proper cash handling procedures.
Ensure customers are asked to round up their change for the "Change Round-up" program to support the mission of Memphis Goodwill.
Maintain cleanliness of the store, including front doors, counters, glass, cases, and shopping carts.
Assist with promotions, including customer information, postings, and special sign displays.
Stock and maintain counter, showcases, and cash/wraps in a neat and clean condition.
Work in a safe manner, adhering to proper handling of material movement equipment and communicating safety hazards.
Assist in training new cashiers.
Clean dressing rooms and re-hang clothes as needed.
Place apparel, wares, shoes, accessories, etc., on the sales floor in the correct location and rotate merchandise.
Adhere to all Memphis Goodwill policies and procedures, including safety practices and reporting hazards/injuries.
Adhere to policies regarding theft, pilferage, and cash receipt handling.
Perform assigned duties within the framework of Guiding Principles.
May be asked to participate in activities outside of Goodwill.
Attend in-service and related training as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
