About The Position
The Cashier interacts with customers as they enter and leave the retail store, with a primary focus on providing excellent customer service. The role includes greeting and assisting customers, answering phone calls, processing transactions, handling cash and returns, and pricing and stocking merchandise as requested by store management. The position reports directly to the Store Manager and has no direct supervisory authority. The schedule includes mornings, one evening per week, and every other weekend; the work schedule is described as irregular. Benefits are available for employees working 30 or more hours per week. The hourly pay range is $16.00–$18.00 depending on experience, plus a $2.00-per-hour premium for weekend work.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Frequent bending and twisting.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers entering the retail store and assist with customer service questions.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and handle them appropriately.
- Process customer transactions using the KCX cash register system.
- Handle cash accurately.
- Price store merchandise as requested by store management.
- Stock merchandise on shelves as requested by store management.
- Handle customer returns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
