About The Position

The Cashier is an hourly position responsible for serving customers at the Farm’s retail stands in accordance with established Farm policies, strategies, and procedures. The role operates under the supervision of the Customer Service Manager and any Cashier Supervisors. The Cashier provides responsive, courteous customer service, processes purchases, helps maintain clean and organized retail facilities, and supports product stocking and display upkeep. Other related or unrelated duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, mathematical, and organizational skills.
• Possess a strong work ethic.
• Be able to stand for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

• Previous cashier and/or customer service experience.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, attentive service by answering customer questions, processing sales, and directing customers to products.
• Stay familiar with the retail layout and knowledgeable about retail items, and help ensure a positive customer experience and high-quality service and products.
• Process purchases efficiently and accurately, including cash, check, credit card, gift certificate, and mixed-tender transactions; maintain drawer accuracy.
• Keep counter areas clean and orderly and assist with keeping retail facilities clean and organized.
• Bag groceries, retrieve carts, maintain neat workspaces, and sometimes help customers carry purchases to their cars.
• Notify the retail manager or supervisor when products need replenishing.
• Assist retail stockers with maintaining and stocking displays; keep products clean, organized, properly labeled, and fully stocked, and remove old or damaged items.
