Seasonal Cashier
About The Position
As a Cashier, you provide fast and friendly service, process transactions, answer customer questions, and help ensure customers have a positive experience. Depending on business needs, you may also be assigned as a sales associate or merchandiser/stock associate. The position is internally referred to as Front End Team Member and reports to the store management team. This is a seasonal, short-term position lasting no longer than six months. Team members may apply for a non-seasonal role. The position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and involves physical activity throughout the workday.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Passion for excellent customer service and a team-player mindset.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to walk, bend repeatedly, and remain on one's feet for 8–10 hours a day.
- Ability to safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets.
- Ability to climb ladders and lift 50 pounds overhead repeatedly.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One or more years of experience in a retail setting.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
Responsibilities
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including verifying identification, handling payments, answering inquiries, promoting the loyalty program, and bagging products.
- Provide exceptional, personalized service by greeting customers, building relationships, and informing them about products and services.
- Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to develop product knowledge.
- Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs.
- Maintain store safety and cleanliness standards.
- Follow applicable laws and regulations related to alcohol sales and help maintain a safe, compliant store environment.
- Complete cross-functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
