About The Position

The primary responsibility of this role is to effectively perform cashier-related functions while maintaining the highest level of customer service. This includes maintaining a friendly and professional environment by greeting and acknowledging every customer and co-worker, accurately and efficiently completing all sales transactions, and maintaining proper cash accountabilities daily. The cashier will also communicate customer service issues and requests to management.

Requirements

• Open availability must be able to work night and weekends
• Ability to repetitively use arms, hands and fingers
• Computer experience required
• Basic mathematical skills required
• Attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively and positively with internal and external customers

Responsibilities

• Handle cash, checks, credit cards and financing.
• Count till (cash) bags at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Verify that all transactions were done correctly and till balances at the end of each shift.
• Maintain the front office appearance by keeping everything neat and clean; file the daily invoices.
• Call the bank on all out of state checks and temporary checks to verify that the checks will clear.
• Call the finance company to verify information on customers account (balance due, account balance, available credit).
• Copy and match all finance approvals; process special orders and handwritten tickets.
• Take account payments for fabric checkouts or other misc. payments.
• Perform any other duties as directed by management.
