About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate welcomes customers, operates the register accurately and efficiently, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, organized, and well stocked. The role includes cleaning indoor and outdoor areas—including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, and the parking lot—and taking trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including the deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures, company policies, and applicable legal requirements for lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales. The position requires working weekends and holidays, spending most of the shift on one's feet, and being comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather. Full-time and part-time schedules are available. Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be prepared to work on one's feet for most of the shift and comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Must have basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, responsibility, adaptability, and willingness to take on varied tasks.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
- Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor store areas, including high-use restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Cross-train in other departments, including the deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support teammates and help where needed.
