About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes customer service and sales, age-restricted product compliance, routine indoor and outdoor cleaning, and cross-training in other departments as needed. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be willing to work on their feet for most of a shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, trustworthiness, and flexibility.

• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
• Learn and handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
• Clean and maintain store interiors and exteriors, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and parking lot areas.
• Remove litter and trash, including taking trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Support coworkers and help wherever needed.
