About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and operating smoothly while providing friendly customer service. The role includes operating the register, handling regulated lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements, assisting with sales, and stocking merchandise. Employees are expected to maintain cleanliness throughout the store and surrounding areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, parking lot, and pump area. The position may also involve cross-training in other departments, including the deli, and helping coworkers wherever needed. This role requires working on your feet for most of a shift and being comfortable indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Weekend and holiday availability is required. Full-time and part-time schedules are available. Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and standing for most of a shift.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Must have basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication skills.
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and be subject to a criminal-history background check.
- Should be personable, positive, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and flexible.
- Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly service and upsell when appropriate.
- Keep indoor and outdoor store areas clean and safe, including deep cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, picking up litter, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways and general organization.
- Cross-train in other departments, including the deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Help coworkers and step in where needed.
