About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes cleaning inside and outside areas such as restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot, as well as taking trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work on their feet for most of the shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Must have basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication skills.
Must frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, adaptable, and willing to perform varied tasks.
Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
Clean and maintain interior and exterior store areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and parking lot.
Collect litter and trash and take trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Support the team and assist wherever needed.
