About The Position

Sales Associates serve customers and help keep the store clean, safe, inviting, and running smoothly. The role includes operating the register, assisting customers with regulated merchandise sales, stocking products, and maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. Candidates should be comfortable working on their feet and in indoor and outdoor conditions in all weather.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work on one’s feet for most of the shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Attention to detail.
Punctuality, trustworthiness, and responsibility.
Adaptability and willingness to take on varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
Keep the store interior and exterior clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, picking up litter, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and general store organization.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Work as a team member and assist wherever needed.
