About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and inviting. The role includes cleaning indoor and outdoor areas—including restrooms, gas pumps, and the parking lot—and taking trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help wherever needed. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of the shift.
• Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Attention to detail.
• Punctuality, trustworthiness, and responsibility.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly service and upsell when possible to increase sales.
• Keep the store’s interior and exterior clean and safe, including deep-cleaning restrooms, sanitizing gas pumps, removing litter, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Support the team and help wherever needed.
