About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers and helps keep the store clean, safe, inviting, and running smoothly. The role includes operating the register, supporting sales, stocking merchandise, and cleaning both indoor and outdoor areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, the parking lot, and the store. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow company policies and safety procedures while helping wherever needed. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be willing to work on one's feet for most of a shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Attention to detail.
• Punctuality, trustworthiness, reliability, and pride in one's work.
• Adaptability and willingness to take on varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
• Deep clean high-use restrooms.
• Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
• Pick up litter and trash from store floors and the lot area.
• Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise fresh and well-presented.
• Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways and other areas.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Work as a team member and assist wherever needed.
