About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and running smoothly while assisting customers. The role includes operating the register, providing friendly service, and supporting sales of lottery, cigarette, and alcohol products in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements. The associate maintains cleanliness throughout the store and its exterior, including restrooms, gas pumps, floors, parking-lot areas, windows, and entryways. Duties also include stocking merchandise, taking trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather, and cross-training in other departments, including deli, as needed. The associate follows safety procedures and company policies and helps wherever needed on the team. This position requires working indoors and outdoors in all weather, being on your feet for most of the shift, and being available on weekends and holidays. Prior retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required; training is provided on the job.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be prepared to work on their feet for most of the shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills are required, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal-history background check.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
Learn and handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly service and upsell when possible to increase sales.
Keep the inside and outside of the store clean and safe.
Deep-clean high-use restrooms.
Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
Pick up litter and trash from the floor and lot area.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise fresh and full.
Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Work as a team member and help wherever needed.
