About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate is a customer-facing store role responsible for operating the register, providing friendly service, supporting sales, and keeping the store clean, safe, and well stocked. The role includes cleaning restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and outdoor areas, and taking trash to the dumpster in all weather conditions. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including the deli, and are expected to help wherever needed.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be comfortable standing for most of the shift and working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, trustworthiness, flexibility, and willingness to perform varied tasks.

Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor store areas, including high-use restrooms, gas pumps, floors, parking lot areas, windows, and entryways.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Cross-train in other departments, including the deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Work as a team member and assist wherever needed.
