About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes cleaning indoor and outdoor areas such as restrooms, gas pumps, entryways, and the parking lot, and taking trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to help wherever needed. Candidates should be friendly, reliable, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working on their feet in a fast-paced retail environment. The position requires working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and availability to work weekends and holidays. Prior retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be willing to work on foot for most of a shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Must have basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Should have a friendly demeanor, attention to detail, reliability, and adaptability.

- Previous retail or customer service experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly service and upsell when possible to increase sales.
- Keep the inside and outside of the store clean and safe.
- Deep-clean restrooms and wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
- Pick up litter and trash from floors and the parking lot, and take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Support the team and help wherever needed.
