About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate provides customer service and operates the register while helping keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes selling lottery tickets, cigarettes, and alcohol in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements, offering friendly service and upselling when appropriate, and maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas. Cleaning duties include restrooms, gas pumps, floors, windows, entryways, and the parking lot, as well as taking trash to the dumpster in all weather. Associates may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures, company policies, and assist the team as needed. The position requires working weekends and holidays, spending most of the shift on one's feet, and working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Full-time and part-time schedules are available. Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be prepared to work on their feet for most of the shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Must have basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal-history background check.
- Must be personable, positive, detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and flexible.
- Previous retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Sell lottery, cigarettes, and alcohol while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
- Keep the store's interior and exterior clean and safe.
- Deep-clean high-use restrooms.
- Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
- Pick up litter and trash from floors and the parking lot.
- Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep and mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Help team members and step in where needed.
