About The Position

The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager with day-to-day convenience-store operations and helps keep the store running effectively across shifts. The role involves customer service, register operation, team leadership, staffing, inventory, merchandising, cleanliness, scheduling, and financial duties. The Assistant Manager serves as acting manager when the Store Manager is absent. Open availability is required, including weekends and holidays, with work primarily on second or third shifts.

Requirements

Open availability to work weekends, holidays, and likely second or third shifts.
Valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance to complete bank deposits.
Ability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, including restrooms, trash, and outside areas such as fuel pumps.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Proficient in English and able to perform basic math.
Willingness to learn.
Must have or be able to obtain a Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations.
Operate the register and assist customers promptly, accurately, and courteously.
Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
Help hire, train, and lead a high-performing, customer-service-focused team.
Serve as acting manager when the Store Manager is off.
Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store stocked.
Maintain a clean and welcoming store, including restrooms, trash areas, and fuel pumps.
Create and manage team schedules to ensure full coverage.
Handle daily cash, make deposits, and oversee store financials.
Provide feedback and leadership to motivate the team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
