About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate serves customers, operates the register, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and running smoothly. The role includes maintaining interior and exterior areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, parking areas, and entryways, and working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Team members may be cross-trained in other departments, including the deli, and are expected to assist where needed. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Able to stay on your feet for most of a shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
• Attention to detail.
• Punctual, trustworthy, and responsible.
• Adaptable and willing to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
• Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
• Provide friendly service and upsell when appropriate.
• Deep clean high-use restrooms.
• Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
• Pick up litter and trash from floors and the lot area.
• Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways and other store areas.
• Cross-train in other departments, including the deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Support the team and help wherever needed.
