About The Position
Thomas Cuisine is hiring a full-time Cashier/Retail Associate for the College Café at West Valley College in Saratoga, California. The role supports dining service for students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors by preparing food and beverages, operating the register, and maintaining a clean, welcoming, and organized retail space. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and the stated compensation is $19 per hour. The role is part of a team-oriented campus dining environment. Requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Compliance with healthcare facility policies and hygiene standards.
- High school diploma or GED.
- ServSafe® Certification and a State Food Handlers Card.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register with 99.85% accuracy, plus or minus.
- Set up the appropriate cashier bank.
- Document cash received and charges made.
- Identify customer needs and refer them to the appropriate department for follow-up when necessary.
- Collect data for cash control.
- Stock refrigerators with beverages, condiments, and other items.
- Clean, sanitize, and polish general work areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and disposing of trash.
- Prepare and gather items needed for meal service.
- Provide exceptional service to all guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
