About The Position

The Cashier/Food Service Worker prepares, presents, and serves food as needed at Haven Market at Western Washington University. The role includes food preparation, handling and storing ingredients, cleaning work areas and equipment, serving customers, addressing customer concerns, and following food safety, sanitation, service, inventory, and cash-control standards. The position is full time, with days and hours that may vary. The fixed pay rate is $21.63 per hour.

Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding them.
• Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
• Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stoves, and refrigerators in accordance with safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas using wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure food quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
• Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner while following service steps.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to a supervisor.
• Comply with company service standards and inventory and cash-control procedures.
• Meet sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
